Campground Overview
Tucked away in seclusion a short way off the main tourist route, this jewel of a campground remains one of the best kept secrets in the Adirondacks. The remote Adirondack setting of this facility offers a relaxing, quiet beauty all its own. The campsites offer privacy; they are large and well-forested. Nearby attractions include the Old Forge region, the Adirondack Museum, and the golf courses at Inlet and Indian Lake. Brown Tract Pond has 90 campsites, 84 are reservable, 37 of which are directly on the water. There are no electric sites and no shower facilities.

WaterOn the shores of Brown Tract Pond. A mostly round pond .65 miles by .5 miles with a single island. Forever wild. Surface area 155 acres.

PaddlingFine paddling opportunities on Lower Brown Tract Pond as well as the connected Upper Pond. For a longer paddle there is access into Raquette Lake, the largest fresh water lake in the Adirondacks.

Brown Tract Pond photos were taken in the spring on May 22, 2014. As such consider that the leaves on the trees are not fully out. If you are camping at Brown Tract Pond in the summer, you can assume that there will be more shade and site privacy on sites that have deciduous trees.
