Campground Overview
Frontier Town Campground, Equestrian and Day Use Area is the newest and most modern DEC campground in the Adirondacks. The longer term plan is for Frontier Town to be established as a new gateway hub to the Adirondacks. The campground is located on 91 acres near the shores of the Schroon River just south of North Hudson in the Adirondacks at the site of the old Frontier Town wild west theme park which operated for over 40 years. Frontier Town offers 91 sites for tents, RV's and equestrian. 79 sites are reservable. 13 sites in the non Equestrian trailer loop have electric and a few sites offer EV charging as well. There are no sites by or near the water. There are 3 group sites which are 'hike-in' with 2 tent pads. Within the campground is a network of multi-use trails for hiking, biking and equestrian use. A picnic and playground area with a pavilion is located along the shore of the Schroon River.
