Meacham Lake Campground

Dave's Tips

Meacham is a real nice lake and perfect for those that like to camp waterside with your own sandy beach right at your site. It last has one of the best sandy beaches in the Adirondacks.

It is a mix of sites for tents through larger trailers. Watersites in the main campground are perfect for those with 20-40ft trailers, and those between sites 92 and 166 are nice and level to the water.

Best area for kids is in the main campground (Meacham North) along the northern shoreline. Watersites 92-95, 97, 149, 153, 154, 156, 157, 159, 161-166, 169 would be your choses.

151 is another option. Level to water but doesn't have the water view from the pad like the others.

170-174 are smaller and up off the water and are designed for tents only.

Meacham West is the 'wild side' of Meacham Lake. It's somewhat rustic and all sites are for tents. Almost all of the watersites in this area are hike-in. Many are hike-in up and over a small hill so some effort may be required to transport your gear. Site 175, 176 and 177 are the best watersites, right on the water and very private. Most but not all watersites in this area have tent platofrms. Sites 185-199 tent are up higher off the water with varying degrees of water accessibility. Some offer a view of the water from the site pad, others offer a limited obstructed view due to the dense trees. All of the watersites in Meacham West jabve their own outhouses.
