Community-shared campsite cancellations across NY State & DEC campgrounds
Cancellation Inquiry Daily Quota & Best Practices
To ensure fair access and maintain site performance, BaseCamp limits each user to 200 cancellation inquiries per day. This prevents excessive server load and ensures that all members can benefit from the cancellation search feature.
Cancellations are updated between 5 AM and 12 AM (midnight), and with a 200-request limit, you can check at least 10 times per hour throughout these 19 hours - more than enough to stay informed without excessive refreshing.
Best Practices for Managing Your Daily Quota:
- Use the MyAlerts page - It's designed for efficiency and loads quickly. Bookmark it on your phone or setup a home screen shortcut to it on your mobile device for easy access.
- Refresh wisely - There is no need to check more than once every 3-5 minutes.
- Avoid browser refresh extensions or automation tools - These violate BaseCamp's terms-of-service and may result in account suspension.
For those tracking a specific campsite and dates, Reserve America allows unlimited page refreshes to check availability directly.
A counter at the bottom of the Cancellations and MyAlerts pages tracks your inquiries and resets at midnight. Most users will not reach this limit, but please plan your searches accordingly.

Notice Regarding BaseCamp Pro Add-on Refunds
You paid $12 for the Pro Add-on on .
The Pro Add-on was deactivated on August 17, 2025. Because your purchase was made more than 30 days prior to that date, it does not qualify for a refund under the Terms of Service you agreed to when signing up for Pro (see the bottom of the Terms of Service page for details).
That said, I want to be fair and keep our supporters happy. If you've had the Pro Add-on for 4 months or less and feel you received little or no value from it, please reach out for a possible partial refund.
To request this, email me at dave@campadk.com with the subject line: BaseCamp Pro Refund Request.
Deadline: Refund requests will only be processed if you contact us by December 17, 2025. No refunds will be issued after that date.

Cancellation Alerts Help
The Cancellation Alert Feature provides you will easy access to user submitted cancellations of campsites at high occupancy state parks in New York (OPRHP and DEC). The focus at this time is on the period between May 16 and Columbus Day. Please note cancellations can get rebooked at any time! As well as campers posting their own cancellations they may also post their campsites to offer to other campers using the New Cancellation/Offer tab. The intent of offers is that someone can post them here and copy/paste the text on our Cancellations Facebook Group so you can communicate with them there via messenger to arrange a time for one to cancel the site and the other to rebook it for themself.
Be sure to join our NY State Campsite Cancellation Facebook Group to get notifications of new cancellations as well as keep up to date on all the improvements and plans for the website, or to ask questions about reservations and cancellations.

This cancellation includes additional days of availability before and/or after a reservation that was cancelled and thus shows all additional sequential days now available. It does not mean someone was able to cancel so many days or that you can rebook all of those dates. Simply select up to 14 days you are interested in from the new availability.

1. Overview
BaseCamp is the core subscription service of CampADK.com / New York State Campsite Photos. It helps you explore campgrounds, compare sites, and make better camping decisions. While all campsite types are covered, BaseCamp places additional emphasis on waterside sites with enhanced photo coverage and categorization.
2. Features Included
- Over 200,000 high-resolution campsite photos
- Detailed campsite information
- Watersite classifications (waterfront, waterview, access-only)
- Photo archives from previous shoots
- Favorites tracking for campgrounds and campsites
- Private and public campsite notes
- Ad-free browsing
3. Account Use
Personal Use Only
BaseCamp is for personal, non-commercial use. Sharing your login or redistributing content (photos, text, or screenshots) via email, social media, or print is not permitted without written permission from Dave McGrath.
4. Intellectual Property
Ownership
All original content, including photos, graphics, notes, and layout, is owned by Dave McGrath and protected by law. Some data (such as site numbers and locations) is sourced from publicly available New York State information.
License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view content for personal use.
5. Subscriptions
BaseCamp is a paid service. An active subscription is required for full access. Subscriptions are billed annually and do not renew automatically. Payments are processed via PayPal. BaseCamp does not store payment details.
6. Service Availability
We aim for reliable access, but occasional downtime may occur due to updates or technical issues. Continuous uptime is not guaranteed.
7. Termination
Account Termination
Accounts may be terminated without notice if these terms are violated.
Effect of Termination
Access to premium content is revoked immediately upon termination.
8. Refund Policy
Subscriptions are generally non-refundable. If you subscribed by mistake, contact us promptly. Requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
9. Updates to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Major updates may be communicated by email or site notice.

2. About the Data
Cancellation info comes from third-party sources and user contributions. It’s provided as-is and may not always be complete or accurate. You are responsible for how you use it.
3. Pro Add-On Availability & Risk
The BaseCamp Pro Add-On relies on external systems for cancellation data. Access to these systems may change or be interrupted without notice. Continued access to BaseCamp Pro features is not guaranteed. By subscribing, you accept this risk and agree that BaseCamp is not liable for missed alerts or booking opportunities.
4. No Refunds
Because the BaseCamp Pro Add-On is offered for a such a modest fee, and relies on access to third-party data, the Pro fee is non-refundable. No refunds will be issued, even if one or more Pro features become unavailable.
5. Fair Use Limits
To ensure equal access for all members, reasonable daily limits apply to how many cancellation results you can view.
6. E-Alert Volume
To keep BaseCamp affordable, E-Alert delivery is subject to quota limits. BaseCamp reserves the right to adjust these limits at any time to manage operating costs, ensure fair usage, and maintain system performance. Additional capacity may be available but will be subject to an added fee.
